Short summary of the project:
The project “Youth Leaders +” is a Training Course under the Key Actions 1 of Erasmus+ Programme
aimed to equip youth workers and leaders working with minority youth with the tools to empower
them with leadership skills, enabling minority youngsters to participate actively in the international and local community. In particular the project’s aim is to empower youth workers that work with young people from minority backgrounds, enabling them to overcome situation of discrimination and social exclusion caused by racism, xenophobia and other forms of intolerance with the use of leadership skills.
The Training Course will involve 31 participants (youth leaders, youth workers, youth activists) coming from 9 organizations (both from EU and EECA). The project will be implemented in Nurri, Cagliari, ITALY, from 22nd to 29th of May 2015. The TC will focus in developing concrete leadership skills for participants, in particular: intercultural communication and public speaking, team building, facilitation, conflict management, with the aim to contribute in promotion of equal opportunities and empowerment of minority youth. The Erasmus+, EU programme for education, training, youth and sport, and other European programmes will be promoted as a tool for inclusion and empowerment of minority youth. Working Methods will be those of non-formal education, which includes creating a friendly and confident environment to stimulate the sharing and the process of learning from each other among the participants. Activities include: group work, simulations, interactive exercises, lab phase which will be prepared and run by participants.
